Using multi-million dollar supersonic fighter jets to intercept cheap, off-the-shelf consumer or modified reconnaissance drones is not defense. It is an economic trap. It is a slow-motion financial bleed, and worst of all, it demonstrates a profound misunderstanding of modern asymmetric attrition warfare. If you spend forty thousand dollars worth of jet fuel, maintenance wear, and pilot hours to hunt a five-hundred-dollar drone, you are losing the war even if you shoot it out of the sky.
